Brooke Burke

Brooke Burke

Brooke Burke (born September 8, 1971) is best known for replacing Jules Asner on the show, Wild On! from 1999 through 2002. She replaced Jules Asner, and quickly took to the show’s format of exploring exotic locals and international vacation destinations, exposing each country's culture, and not just its tourist traps. She has also reigned for years on virtually all of the top 100 sexiest women in the world polls for many popular men’s magazine, including FHM, Maxim, and GQ.

After graduating from UCLA, she was signed to top modeling agencies, including the renowned Ford Models Agency, after being noticed by a talent scout while accompanying a friend to a modeling agency. She subsequently appeared in prominent television commercials for Bally Fitness clubs, Coca-Cola, and Discover Card, and turned her degree in broadcast journalism into her launching pad when she signed with E! Entertainment Television channel to host Wild On!

Early Life

This American television personality and model, was the fourth of seven children born to Donna and George Burke. She is Jewish on her mother's side and was raised primarily with the Jewish faith; she also has Irish, French and Portuguese ancestry, giving her a stunning, unique and exotic look. Burke did some pagent competitions in her youth, and won first beauty pageant at age 14.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Brooke developed an affinity for the desert as a child and never envisioned herself as a Hollywood personality or television star. She has been noted as saying, "When I was young, I wanted to do something innocuous, like become a drummer in a rock and roll band."

After dabbling in modeling while in Arizona, Brooke won an acting scholarship and moved out to Los Angeles. There she undertook broadcast journalism studies at UCLA; and in her extra time, she worked as a model and gained considerable experience while posing for the Frederick's of Hollywood catalogs.

Career

From 1999 to 2002, Burke became well-known while hosting Wild On!, a popular travel series on the E! Entertainment Television channel, replacing previous host Jules Asner.

E! was looking for a spontaneous, personable and down-to-earth person, and she was signed to a three-year contract with the network as host of the travel show. As part of the series, she traveled the world extensively, profiling many popular travel destinations. During her stint as host of Wild On! (1997), Brooke redefined the term exotic location. She has guided tours from the Australian Outback to the Mayan Riviera, and from the endangered Bamboo forests of Bali to the hyperthyroid nightlife of the world's most exotic party capitals. From grasping the fin of a wild shark in Belize to flying a Russian MIG 17, she has virtually done it all.

Burke first appeared nude during her early modeling career for the website BlueNudes.com, and most notably after gaining fame in the May 2001 and November 2004 issues of Playboy and has also appeared in several other men's magazines such as Maxim and FHM. Maxim magazine named her #94 in their "2006 Hot 100 List" and featured her on their gallery. During the rise of her career Burke had D-cup breast implants, as seen in her aforementioned first Playboy shoot. Those implants were later replaced or reduced to C-cup size, as seen in her second layout for the magazine.

Though Brooke's is never the featured starlet, she has done several bit parts in a variety of films. Most notably the independent features The Hazing (2004) and Knuckle Sandwich (2004) and she has also guest-starred on the television series Less Than Perfect (2002), "Monk" (2002), Rock Me Baby (2003) and That's Life (2000). She made her stage debut performing a celebrity guest "CenterPIECE" monologue for the Los Angeles premiere of the hit off-Broadway play, "Pieces (Of Ass)." She also currently appears in a new Burger King commercial, directed by David Lachapelle. She has also voiced "Rachel" in Electronic Arts' video game "Need for Speed: Underground 2", and asks the "People and Places" questions in the video game, "Trivial Pursuit Unhinged."

Burke has fronted infomercials promoting a swiss ball video home fitness workout named "Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets," and appears in the first video of the series entitled "20 Minute Full Body Workout." These infomercials have been seen in New Zealand and Australia.

In 2005, Burke hosted the CBS summer reality show, Rock Star: INXS. An American Idol-like series in which anticipated singers were competing to replace the late singer of the 1980s rock band INXS, Michael Hutchence are qualified to become either frontman or frontwoman for. In its first season, the show received low ratings, but was still brought back for another round in 2006. The second season was called Rock Star: Supernova, which again featured Burke and the wild antics of Dave Navarrow as hosts, and featured 15 contestants competing to become the lead vocalist for a newly formed supergroup featuring Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

Brooke Burke is on the cover of the 2006 Burger King advergaming title "PocketBike Racer." She also appears in "Big Bumpin'." She stars as a playable character in both games.

From her extensive travels and ten years of swimwear advertising experience, Burke created an internationally flavored beachwear line called "Barely Brooke.” The line has appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue and Victoria's Secret catalogue.

Personal life

In July 2005, Burke and her husband, plastic surgeon, Dr. Garth Fisher, announced their separation. They have two daughters together, Neriah (born March 2000, and named after her friend and former Playboy Playmate Neriah Davis), and Sierra Sky (born April 2002). They had been married since 2001, and he had been rumored to have given Burke exstenive plastic surgery while they were together, including a cheek lift, breast implants, and possibly a nose job and eye brow lift.

Burke is now dating French-born actor David Charvet. On the September 6th episode of Rock Star: Supernova, she revealed that she was expecting another girl. On August 21, 2006 People magazine reported the couple was engaged with Charvet proposing to Burke at a summer party.

After quite a few pictures of a very pregnant Burke frolicking on the beach in a bikini, and still looking wonderful, on January 8, 2007, she gave birth to a baby girl named Heaven Rain Charvet.

In order to keep in shape, Burke enjoys doing yoga, Pilate's, the "Core Secrets" ball workout she promotes, taking long walks along mountain trails or secluded beaches, preparing gourmet holiday meals for her family and friends, and catching movies and plays.
